Knightdale NC and Wendell NC are surging in popularity, here are some of the BEST neighborhoods in Knightdale and Wendell NC!
Known for their affordability and quick access to downtown Raleigh, these neighborhoods provide quite the variety.
Let’s jump right in.

Wendell Falls
Starting off furthest east, Wendell Falls is one of the most popular neighborhoods east of Raleigh.
Located on the west side of Wendell and just south of I-87, Wendell Falls is a massive, master planned community that is incredibly popular.
It currently has quite a few retail spaces under construction in the front of the neighborhood with some already complete, such as a publix, and there are plans for restaurants like Bojangles, Jersey Mikes, Starbucks and more!
The community has a beautiful activity center with the popular Farmhouse Cafe located inside as well as a fitness center, and is located right next to a beautiful pond with a fountain.
The saltwater pool has a zero entry area with a kids splash zone, and there’s a playground right next to the pool as well.
Wendell Falls also has multiple parks and green spaces spread throughout the community to stretch your legs and play, and there are over 10 miles of walking trails that can be used for hiking or mountain biking.
And, Cardinal Charter Academy and Lake Myra Elementary School are located in the community for convenient drives to school.
The homes themselves are beautiful and are generally all built within the last 5-10 years, so very few should require updating.
There are a variety of home styles in Wendell Falls ranging from townhomes to single family homes, and are organized into multiple areas centered around Wendall Falls Parkway.
There are smaller homes situated pretty close together, and some of the more expensive homes with slightly more room, but, overall you’ll find 1/4 acre or less lot sizes.
The home prices range from around $300k up to $1M with between 1500SF to 4500SF in size, so, you can get a large home for a pretty affordable price with tons of amazing amenities here.
The commute to downtown Raleigh is pretty quick at around 20 minutes, and it’s about 35 minutes to both the RDU airport and RTP, but that is without considering rush hour traffic.
Wendell is in the Wake County Public School System and is assigned to Lake Myra or Carver Elementary, Wendell Middle and East Wake High School.

Knightdale Station
The next neighborhood is moves us into Knightdale, and this newer community called Knightdale Station is the talk of the town.
Located just North East of the center of Knightdale and right next to the newly built and incredibly popular Knightdale Station Park, Knightdale Station is Knightdale’s newest new construction community.
The community broke ground in 2014 and will eventually consist of over 600 single family homes as well as nearly 200 townhomes.
There are currently around 260 of the 600 lots built on, and future phases are preparing for construction.
While the community already has a newly built Thales Academy, Knightdale Station Preschool, and YMCA, there are quite a few more commercial developments planned as well as an expanded YMCA facility.
The neighborhood uses the adjacent YMCA as it’s swimming pool, and as mentioned, the Knightdale Station Park can be walked or biked to from the community, which is such a beautiful space to enjoy the outdoors.
The homes in Knightdale Station are new construction with the latest trends included, and range from as low as the $300ks to just over $1M, but most homes are in the $500k to $700k range with around 3000SF to 4000SF.
The homes are spaced pretty closed to each other in general with lot sizes around 1/4 of an acre or less, and don’t expect a ton of trees as the neighborhood as it needs time for plantings to mature.
The commute to downtown Raleigh is around 20 minutes, and it’s around 30 minutes to both the RDU airport and RTP.
Knightdale Station is also in the Wake County Public School System and is assigned to Lockhart Elementary, Neuse River Middle, and Knightdale High.

The neighborhood has a very established feel overall with trees everywhere. There is plenty of shade and privacy, and it’s beautiful in the fall.
Planters Walk has its’ own swimming pool and playground, as well as some great walking trails through the woods.
Since most of the homes were built in the late 80s into the 90s, most homes are on the older side and will very likely need updates.
