Best Food at the NC State Fair 2024!
The NC State Fair just came out with it’s list of new foods for the upcoming 2024 Fair on October 17-27th! Here are our votes for the five craziest, five that will no doubt clog your arteries, five that we are most excited about, five most unique drinks, and five best desserts!
Craziest New Foods
Chamoy Pickles – Flavored pickles wrapped in Fruit Roll Ups and stuffed with candy, sprinkles and chips! That is sure to have your kids bouncing off the walls.
Sizzing Hot Funnel Cake – Just your typical funnel cake topped with nacho cheese and of course, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos!
Dilly Dog – Hot dogs and pickles, a natural combination right!
Loaded Bologna Fries – This could easily be in the artery clogging section, but it’s a pretty combination to make fries out of bologna, and naturally top it off with chili cheese sauce.
NC Crab and Shrimp Bomb in Hot Cheetos – A new style of Old Bay seasoning, hot Cheetos! The Cheetos crumbles will create the crunchy outer shell, and be filled with cheese crab meat and shrimp.
Most likely to Clog your Arteries
Bacon Cheeseburger Corn Dog – A cheeseburger, dipped in corn dog batter, with more cheese and bacon on the outside. Hard to walk away from this one.
Deep Fried Loaded Cheese Puffs – Yea…the name says it all on this one. Oh and there’s ranch too.
Swedish Meat Pizza Cone – Swedish meatballs, cheese, and of course, gravy. Good going down but…
Cowboy Bites – White cheddar cheese and Texas Brisket, with panko and finished off with a deep fry.
Barbecue Bacon Queso Sandwich – Some eastern style BBQ with queso, and yes, topped off with more pork with some bacon.
I’m Most Excited for These
Sweet Cheese Pie – Pancakes, stuffed with cheese, fried and dipped in syrup. Take my money.
Buffalo Chicken Pizza Cone – Buffalo pizza, in a cone. Very convenient, very tasty.
Deep Fried Ribs – Potentially another artery clogger, but you get to choose your sauce, and yep, it’s deep fried.
Mexican Street Corn Nachos – Mexican street corn without getting it all stuck in your teeth, plus nachos! Yea, I’m excited for this one.
Philly Chicken Egg Roll – I like egg rolls, and I like Philly Chickens with cheese, can’t see anything wrong with that combo.
Most Unique Drinks
Pickle Dr. Pepper – I can’t say I’ve ever wondered what this would taste like, but here it is.
Glazed Donut Coffee Float – Iced coffee with vanilla ice cream, and donuts. Not sure if this is more a dessert or a drink?
Pumpkin Spice Iced Tea – What better way to get into the spirit of Fall by mixing pumpkin flavor with iced tea.
Mangonada – If you like Mangos, check this out.
Sweet Maple Bacon Iced Tea – Another tea, this time with sweet maple bacon. Sounds amazing.
Best Desserts
S’more Pizza Cone – Crispy pizza cone filled with your classic s’more ingredients. A s’more without the mess?
Cotton Candy Mini Cakes – Yes, yes and more yes. Pancakes, cotton candy, and syrup, enough said.
Summerween Slush – Orange creamsicle with whipped cream and cookie crumbles, and all inside a halloween spirited mug!
Birth Cake Cookie Dough on a Stick – If you like cookie dough, here you go. And it’s conveniently on a stick.
Strawberry Lemonade Donut – Just your typical donut with lemon frosting and strawberry lemonade crumbles. I’ll take three.
